Homework

Please check your child's planner and bag regularly for their homework. It is important that all homework deadlines are met as often this influences and supports the work that will take place in the classroom. If you have any queries with any homework that is set, please see a member of staff at the earliest instance.

Nursery - pupils will receive a piece of creative homework on a weekly basis. This will be sent home on Wednesday and should be returned to school by Monday.

Reception - pupils will receive a piece of creative homework on a weekly basis. This will be sent home on Wednesday and should be returned to school by Monday. They will also begin to bring home a reading book, phonics sounds and key words - these should be read on a daily basis. Please sign your child's planner to evidence that work has been completed at home.

Key Stage 1 - pupils will receive a piece of creative homework on a weekly basis. This will be sent home on Wednesday and should be returned to school by Monday. They will also have spellings to practice for a weekly test and a reading book. It is beneficial for your child to read at home, little and often. Please ask your child questions about the text they have read to deepen their comprehension skills. Some homework may be posted on the class blog.

Key Stage 2 - pupils will receive 2 pieces of homework each week. English homework will be sent home on Monday and should be returned to school on Thursday. Maths homework will be sent home on Thursday and should be returned to school on Monday. Pupils will also have a reading book which should be read daily and weekly spellings to practice. Throughout each half term, pupils may complete a creative task which will be linked to their curriculum topic. Some homework may be posted on the class blog.
