Forest School

Forest School is a key element of our curriculum which runs on Thursdays and Fridays with Mr King. All classes are timetabled for Forest School throughout the year.

Below are the 6 core principles of Forest School.

1. Long Term Process - it's a frequent, regular session in a natural environment, allowing for deeper relationships and sustained learning.

2. Natural Environment - takes place in a woodland or natural setting to build a strong connection between learners and the natural world.

3. Holistic Development - aims to develop confident, resilient, creative and independent individuals by nurturing all aspects of their growth.

4. Supported Risk - offer opportunities for learners to take risks appropriate to the environment and themselves, fostering     self-esteem and resilience.

5. Qualified Practitioners - led by trained Forest School leaders who maintain and develop their skills to support learning effectively.

6. Learner Centred Processess - uses child-led, play based approaches to create a community where learners drive their own development.
